Ekkula is a Ugandan local word implying Pearl. Pearl of Africa stands to imply the most elegant Nation on this majestic Continent of Africa. Tourism Awards is an activity where stakeholders in the tourism industry are recognized and awarded accordingly.
Ekkula PAT Awards and Exhibition is an annual activity that Researches, Nominates, Exhibits, Recognizes and Awards those that selflessly put Uganda’s tourism to admirable heights. These will include both Ugandans and non-Ugandans.
This is the fifth edition of Ekkula Tourism Awards, which will be the first one since the industry was hot by covid19.
BACKGROUND
The Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities with its agencies alongside development partners are doing an oversight role in uplifting the status of Uganda’s image and tourism as the best place to travel globally especially with the launch of Explore Uganda brand.
Uganda’s Regional Clusters are getting more active in tourism Initiatives like Ekyooto Ha Mpango festival , POA star search, Culinary tourism like Rolex initiatives ,Eco Tourism campaigns like Pet a Tree, Boda Boda Tours , Kampala by Night, Wildlife excursions and Birding just to mention a few.
